Audience (or class) Involvement #1 – Borge Punctuation

A statement I have used over and over in my teaching career is, “School is school; life is life.” I employ this explanation when I see students getting that “mall glaze” in their eyes. School can’t always be fun, exciting, active, . . . BUT, as teachers, we can make it simulate “life” (which students don’t seem to realize isn’t always fun, exciting, active, etc.). Whenever I can, I try to involve the audiences I speak to in interactive exercises. The same is true for my classes. The video that follows illustrates “sitting down action.”
